The Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire has four cadets assigned to attend events and generally help out on special occasions. The assignment lasts for a year and is a special honour for those chosen. The Cadets will find themselves at the heart of royal visits, important ceremonial events in the County, and the myriad of causes that the Lord Lieutenant supports.

This evening was the changing of the guard where the four outgoing cadets told the assembled company cadets and their proud parents about their experiences. We then heard the citations for the new Cadets who were then presented with their certificates of office. We wish them a great year with lots of interesting things to do.

Stephen Gow, who escorted me around Bromyard when I was a freshly minted High Sheriff almost a year ago, was given a special award for his diligence and dedication to the Cadet Force.
