Attended The Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust Service for Advent in London at The Guards’ Chapel. The Hereford Cathedral Choir once again sang beautifully, which was appreciated by the large gathering of the many friends of the Cathedral from Herefordshire, London, and the South-east.
I attended the National Launch of ‘Explore Your Archive’ at Herefordshire Archive & Record Centre. This building is a fantastic asset to Hereford city and well worth a visit.
At 3pm I attended a service of Remembrance and Hope at Hereford Cathedral for those affected by road traffic accidents. It was a moving service and once again the choir sang beautifully
Saturday 19th November I attended the Annual Dinner of the Old Luctonians Association held at Lucton School. Georgina Painter-Black, an old girl, gave an entertaining speech.
At 8.30pm I attended the fashion show of the Megan Baker charity at Bengrys of Leominster.
At 6pm was the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service Medals and Awards Ceremony. I presented the High Sheriff of Herefordshire’s Community Volunteer Award to Mr Edward Cheshire who has given over 500 hours of his time to community work over an 18 month period. He is a real unsung hero.
At 2pm I attended the memorial service for James Nicholas DL who was a former High Sheriff of Hereford and Worcestershire.
I had a River Wye meeting with the Hereford Mayor at 11am, along with the committee. Progress is being made in trying to get the River Wye navigated from the Left Bank, and also a launch pad for Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade.
At 12 noon I spent another day at The Cart Shed, this time at Newport House Woodland Centre, which is the twin to Norton Canon. I helped organise two events for Vennture at the Left Bank; one at 6.30pm on Tuesday 15th November and also the following morning at 7.30pm to showcase how businesses of all sizes can meaningfully make a difference in our city and local area. Vennture also incorporates the Street Pastors.
