I attended the display in High Town, Hereford, but was unable to be at the other events on this important day of celebration for the armed forces of the county.  I was invited by Col Andy Taylor OBE DL, Rifles County Colonel for Herefordshire.

There were an impressive group of charities that support the armed services and veterans set up in High Town, each addressing a particular area of need.  They included the  Royal British Legion, SSAFA and the Army Benevolent Fund amongst several others, one of which was the Cart Shed: http://www.thecartshed.co.uk/ which helps ex-servicemen acquire woodworking and woodland management skills from its base in north Herefordshire.

The stands were staffed by impressive and enthusiastic individuals, each clearly dedicated to the work of their charity.  It is excellent that they are available to help servicemen make the often-difficult move from military to civilian life.
