Hereford Cathedral hosted an exhibition of Art by Yinka Shonibare CBE, commissioned by Meadow Arts. The works are described as “patchwork, appliqué,  embroidery and Dutch wax printed cotton textile.” The works were assembled by the Hereford College of Art.

The works were inspired by the mythical creatures that are to be found on the Mappa Mundi, the largest medieval map know to exist, dating from around 1,300ad, one of the treasures to be seen at Hereford Cathedral.

We attended a talk by the artist, interviewed by Francine Stock, the Radio and TV presenter.

The exhibition is on at Hereford Cathedral until 1st June 2019. At the time of writing, the Meadow Arts web-site has photographs of the exhibits to give an idea
