Bob and Bea were delighted to attend the Herefordshire Group Training Association Annual Apprentice Awards Evening on Wednesday 13th November in The Courtyard, Hereford.  They were met by Allen Merrick who is a HGTA Board member and were introduced to members of the Board, other guests and the apprentices who were to be awarded.  Also in attendance were the Mayor and Mayoress of Hereford, Councillor Philip Edwards and Mrs Bobbie Hadley and the Vice Chairman of Herefordshire Council, Mr Chris Chappell.  It was a lovely evening celebrating the success of the young men and women who are training at the HGTA.

The special guest for the evening was TV presenter and mountaineer Rebecca Stephens MBE who awarded the prizes and afterwards gave a talk about her career as a journalist, what drove her and the training she undertook to be the first woman to climb Everest as well as the highest peaks on all the Continents.  It was a fascinating and inspirational talk given by a fascinating woman.
