Bob and Bea at Whitecross School

Bob and Bea visited Whitecross High School and Specialist Sports College on the 15th October.  Welcomed by the Headmistress, Denise Strutt, they were introduced to pupils and teachers from The Heritage School, Calcutta, India who were spending some time at the school.  Anita Adbani and Anupama Roy accompanied 4 girls and 11 boys aged between 12 and 14 from The Heritage School.  They stayed with host families in the County during their visit.  The Heritage School, established in 2001, is a unique endeavour to recreate the ancient Gurukul tradition of India and the school provides an enriching atmosphere where equal attention is paid to physical, emotional and intellectual development of the students.

Bob spent some time explaining the role of High Sheriff and both he and Bea enjoyed chatting to the young people and their teachers as well as some of the wonderful staff at Whitecross School.

Bob also presented International Rugby tickets for the England v Australia match at Twickenham in November to the school’s two Boys Sports Captains – Owen Rivers and Scott Greenhill in recognition of their services to physical education and sport.
