Section 2: Pensons Restaurant to Lemore Manor

This was the longest section of the Foodie Tour of just over 37 miles, and we headed out of Pensons towards Kyre and then Hampton Charles, onto the A44 then back to the Drum crossroads across to the A49, to Ashton, Eye and Luston. We had glimpses of the Shropshire hills in the distance.

From Mortimer’s Cross to Kingsland and Shirlheath to pick up the Black and White Trail through Eardisland, Pembridge to Lyonshall, lovely to be driving through those picturesque villages. The views were awesome, especially at one point where we turned right SP Almeley and again as we dropped downhill to Lemore Manor Manor drive on our left. Breathtakingly beautiful.

Margaret and Ben welcomed us at Lemore Manor in the sunshine, with musicians playing in the bandstand and tables spaced out in the garden so the groups of 6 could eat and maintain social distancing. We feasted on gourmet picnics and relaxed for a couple of hours, giving Meg and Ella time to sell the raffle.

Our contactless Covid-19 compliant raffle meant selecting numbers for £5 each and paying contactlessly by card. All the prizes were vouchers delivered by email.
