Herefordshire Volunteers of the Year Awards 2013

Bob and Bea attended the HVOSS Herefordshire Volunteers of the Year Awards 2013 on Monday 10th June at the Three Counties Hotel.  The Awards were very kindly sponsored by allpay.  It was a wonderful evening where very special Herefordians were recognised for their stirling and selfless work as volunteers.

The Volunteer of the Year Award was sponsored by Ross Labels and 1st Prize went to Richard Johnston (Newton Farm Community Centre).  2nd Prize went to Jeannie Shave (Court Witness Service).

The Young Volunteer Award was also sponsored by Ross Labels and 1st Prize went to The Epics (Close House).  2nd Prize went to Alex Bauress and Georgie Caine (for their work with Withington young people).

The Volunteer Team of The Year Award was sponsored by Cargill and 1st Prize went to the Herefordshire CAB.  2nd Prize went to the Macmillan Cancer Unit Volunteers with commendations to Clare and Richard Fulloway for Leominster Town Cadets.

The Sports Volunteer Award was sponsored by Biddle Properties and 1st Prize went to Hereford Skate Park – Brian Stephens, Anna Toon and Joy Davies.  2nd Prize went to the Royal National College for the Blind – Adrian Snelgrove.

The Community Hero Award was sponsored by the Hereford Rotary Club and 1st Prize went to Eliza Giermaniuk for her work with the East European Community.  2nd Prize went to Rita Langford for her work in Kington.

The Fundraiser Award was sponsored by BOSS and went to The Hospice Angels.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was sponsored by allpay and went to Irene Phillips for her work with various charities but particularly St John Ambulance.
