Bob hosted a lunch for a cross section of people from different sectors of the Herefordshire community on Wednesday 6th November 2013 at College Hall, Hereford Cathedral.  Guests included businessmen and women, representatives of Herefordshire farming, members of the police, military, church, fire and rescue service, judiciary, Herefordshire Council and the voluntary sector.  Also attending were the Police and Crime Commissioners from both Herefordshire (Mr Bill Longmore) and Gloucestershire (Mr Martin Surl). During Bob’s speech he outlined his reasons for hosting the lunch: to promote communication and understanding between different sectors in Herefordshire; to promote road safety in the County and to showcase the work of the Council, the police and the fire and rescue service under the management of the Safer Roads Partnership and to promote the importance of Hereford Cathedral. The lunch gave people from many different aspects of Herefordshire life a chance to meet and exchange ideas.  Guests heard a short speech from Mr Rod Reynolds, Manager of the Safer Roads Partnership about road safety in Herefordshire and about the “Driving for Better Business’ campaign.  This was followed by a talk by Wendy Venus from the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
