The Annual Shrievalty Service was held on Sunday 4th October in Hereford Cathedral. Supporting the Crown and the Judiciary is key to the role of the High Sheriff and this service was an opportunity to offer thanks to our regional and local Judiciary and all agencies that support them. The High Sheriff actively lends support and encouragement to crime prevention agencies, the emergency services and the voluntary sector and so it was an opportunity to thank them as well. The Dean and Chapter of Hereford Cathedral arranged a wonderful service, and it was attended by His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, Edward Harley and Mrs Harley, members of the Judiciary, Police and Fire Services, neighbouring High Sheriffs, The Mayors of Hereford and the market towns and members of many voluntary groups in Herefordshire. The High Sheriff was attended for the first time by St John Ambulance cadets.
